Create a smooth street and trail ride for your Dodge Ram 4x4 with the RECON SERIES. This kit uses soft-riding VR coils and progressive mini leaf packs. Retains factory load ratings while greatly increasing control both on and off road. The Bilstein 6646 front shock gives increased wheel travel and no "topping out" over obstacles. Developed by KORE, the Bilstein 6647 rear shocks are specially valved to work with KORE MINI LEAF PACKS in the HD Dodge application.
This system will clear a 35x12.50x17 or 315/70/17 tire as long as it is used on the stock wheel or a wheel with the correct backspace. The stock backspace for the 2003-2010 Dodge is 6.25" and the 1998-2002 is 5.50". If you use an aftermarket wheel with a backspace of less than 6.0" for a 2003-2009 model or 5.0" for a 1998-2002 model then you may have to do some minor trimming on the back part of your front fenders. The VR Coils with this kit raise the front up to 3 inches. We say "up to 3 inches" because not all Dodge Rams are the same from the factory; some are a little taller and some are shorter, depending on bumper configuration etc.
We recommend that you get an alignment after your system is installed. When your truck is put on a lift to get aligned the tires may be slowly pushed to the left by the included high-performance steering stabilizer. This condition is normal, so don't be alarmed.The steering stabilizer that comes with this system is charged with an adjustable volume of nitrogen. Like the stock unit, this causes a slight pressure to the left. This is designed to compensate for the tendency that larger, aftermarket tires have to follow the crown of the road and drift right. With our steering stabilizer your truck will track straight ahead over the road.
